About
đź‘‹ Hey there, I’m Ethan Gregory Dodge. I’m an autistic and ADHD writer who was raised in a strict Mormon household in Utah County, Utah. I left the LDS Church at 25 and was diagnosed neurodivergent at 34. I’m also a journalist and documentarian. My articles have been published in outlets like VICE, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Salt Lake Tribune, Tattootime, Metro Silicon Valley, and others.
My writing here in my personal blog tends to wax memoiristic as I explore my Mormon and neurodivergent identity through my past and present. My work elsewhere will usually touch on tattooing, Mormonism, or surveillance—and any possible intersection of the three.
I’m so excited to have you here!
Press bio #
Ethan Gregory Dodge is an autistic and ADHD writer, photographer, and documentarian based in San Jose, California whose work explores the dynamics of identity, community, and power.
Raised in Utah Valley, much of his personal work wrestles with his identity as a non-believing Mormon. He was one of the journalists who exposed the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ hidden stock and real estate portfolios. Since 2022, his journalistic work has focused primarily on documenting tattoo history and culture—a lifelong fascination that was previously forbidden by his religious upbringing.
Ethan is driven by a deep belief in speaking truth to power and preserving culture through careful, human-centered storytelling. His work has appeared in VICE, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Salt Lake Tribune, and many other outlets.
